2 LEDUC 1 70th Anniversary History made 70 years ago Alex Boates This year marks a momentous anniversary for one of the most important moments in the history of Alberta. It was 70 years ago now that oil was discovered at the Leduc 1 well, a discovery that birthed the oil boom in Alberta and created an industry that has long since defined this province. Don Hunter now volunteers over at the Leduc 1 Energy Discovery Centre, a museum that stands to preserve and display that rich history.
